Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) serve persons 60 and older. The facility provides room and board, housekeeping, laundry, supervision, and personal care assistance with activities of daily living such as but not limited to meal preparation, assistance with medication, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and walking.

 

This level of care and supervision is for people who are unable to live by themselves but who do not need 24 hour nursing care.

 

RCFE’s are non-medical facilities and are not required to have nurses, certified nursing assistant (CNA) or doctors on staff.

 

Other common terms used to refer to this level of care are assisted living facilities, board and care homes and rest homes that provide personal care and supervision.

Daily on-site medical specialists such as doctors, nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapist can be contracted by our client and to have the service rendered at the facility.

 

Do you accept residents with dementia/alzheimers?

Yes. A & A Bakersfield Care Home meets the state requirements for accommodating residents with dementia.
A & A Bakersfield Care Home has a dementia plan and our staff receives training to care residents with these special needs.

What is your staff ratio?

A & A Bakersfield Care Home provides 1 caregiver for every 3 residents. Additional caregivers may be provided depending on the needs of the residents.

What kind of food do you serve?

A & A Bakersfield Care Home provides three nutritionally balanced, home cooked meals daily. Snacks are served in between meal times. We can handle special dietary needs as prescribed by the physician. Sample menu can be viewed and available for residents and family members.

Aside from the monthly fee, are there any additional costs involved?

There is no additional fee for residents needing an incontinence care.

We have caregivers to supervise residents who are awake at night.

Do you provide any assistance with medication?

Yes. We provide assistance with self-administered medications. We dispense all meds and reorder as necessary.

Are incontinence supplies such as adult pads, diapers, adult briefs etc. included?

The families pay for all the incontinence supplies used by the resident. We can assist the family and contact the supplier and handle the reordering for you.
